Between Mouthfuls

Gosforth's Fete
Directed by
Kim Storer

Synopsis

Gosforth's Fete
Gosforth is a publican who is running the village gala, but there's bad personal news from Milly Carter over the public-address system.
Cubmaster Stewart Stokes discovers alcohol, there's the Vicar of course, and Councillor Mrs Piece gets a roasting. And that's before the rain. Gosforth's Fete starts as drama, develops into well-choreographed chaos as everything goes wrong and climaxes as full-blown farce.

Between Mouthfuls

This play is performed by the Junior Group. Two couples at adjoining restaurant tables have something in common, assisted by an attentive waiter. Mrs Pearce suspects things about Mr Pearce. Meanwhile, Polly hasn't told Harry everything and there's a twist to the plotline.

  Enjoyable Double Bill at Lovelace
Dramatist Alan Ayckbourn's plays are well known to be supercharged with biting humour. So perhaps it comes as no surprise when an electric shock proves to be the highlight of his one-act comedy 'Gosforth's Fete' which was staged by the Lovelace Theatre Group last week..

    Busy Programme
Lovelace Theatre Group's senior and junior performers teamed up for three whows in one. The seniors performed Alan Ayckbourn's farce Gosforth's Fete while the same playwright's comedy Between Mouthfuls gave the teenage cast the opportunuity to shine.
