Synopsis
This play by award-winning Willy Russell was first seen on BBC2 in 1977 and has now been given the Lovelace Theatre Group treatment.
Sad, humorous and true to life, it tells the story of a bunch of underprivileged, remedial schoolchildren who are taken on a day's outing by their teachers. Mrs Kay, ever enthusiastic, heads the group, initially alone but is joined by the no nonsense Mr Briggs.
While Mrs Kay gets on with the job of keeping the kids inline, Mr Briggs has a harder time of it. As the day progresses, Mr Briggs has to face some difficult decisions about how he treats the kids, in a tale of great drama and comedy..
