Synopsis
The Lovelace Theatre Group are proud to perform this stage adaptation by Ian Gower and Paul Carpenter from the beloved BBC sitcom, which follows the arrival of Geraldine Granger, the first female vicar in the sleepy village of Dibley. Her unexpected appointment shocks the traditional parish council, but with charm, wit, and the help of her quirky verger Alice Tinker, Geraldine gradually wins over the eccentric locals.
The play draws from the first ten episodes of the TV series and features iconic moments like parish council meetings, Lent challenges, and the blossoming romance between Alice and Hugo Horton, culminating in their delightfully chaotic wedding.
