Synopsis

Our May presentation is a performance of a popular theatre play “Lucky Sods!”.

It is a sharp, funny, and ultimately bittersweet British play by John Godber about an ordinary couple whose lottery win exposes the cracks in their marriage rather than fixing them. It blends comedy with social observation, showing how sudden wealth magnifies long‑buried tensions rather than solving them.

When Morris and Jean, a long‑married working‑class couple, unexpectedly win £2 million on the National Lottery, they assume their lives will instantly improve. Instead, the windfall becomes a catalyst for emotional upheaval.
